1- Exterior shots of Rome Mosque

The Muslim community in the Italian capital of Rome, estimated at around 80,000 consisting mainly of Pakistanis, Moroccan, Egyptian, Bangladeshi, Tunisian and Algerian Muslims, began their fast Wednesday night, marking the first day of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The municipality of Rome also launched a shuttle service for Muslims to attend prayers at the Rome Mosque during Ramadan.

Redouane Abdullah, director of Rome's Islamic Cultural Centre, said there would be Qur'an recitations at Rome Mosque as well as conferences and meetings on interfaith dialogue and relations between Islam and Europe throughout the holy month.
