| Marriages should last seven years |
The coalition partner Christian Socialist Union Party MP made a suggestion about marriage which has resulted in debates. Gabriele Pauli, the MP of the coalition partner Christian Socialist Union Party, who is competing for the leadership in Bavaria, has suggested that marriage be limited to seven years and at the end of this time it should either be extended or be terminated with an amendment in law. Gabriele Pauli defended that it will end the difficulties during the divorce period and added: " people enter a hard process in order to get divorced after a few years of marriage. This marriage term could be established in order to prevent this. People can get married in order to be together for seven years not for all of their lives. They can either say yes to extend this period or just get divorced smoothly at the end of this time." |
