" The ones that do not win election generate paranoia"

The minister of education, Hüseyin Çelik, said: " as a minister I am telling that there is nothing to be scared of. If the watchman wants to secure his place, he pretends there is a thief."

Referring to a question about the latest event on headscarf wearing at school, the minister said: " they will say AK Party is creating the tension and making politics over headscarf. My own view will be presented as the view of the government. So, I will not speak about headscarf."

Referring to a question about the effect of wearing headscarf at universities freely, Çelik said: " we are the ruling party for over five years. There has not been any pressure for anyone about the way they dress. As a party we believe the existence of secularism. We believe in the plural quality of democracy."

The minister said referring to the reason for the words of the PM telling women not to be scared: " there is nothing to be scared of. As the minister of education, I am telling this nation that tomorrow will be better than today. They could not overwhelm AK Party at the election, so they generate paranoia."
